So my grandma whos type 2 had her appointment at her diabetes doc a few months ago. Her morning BG was kinda sad that time, I still believe it was her meds not working well, her before meals BG were alright. Anyway, her diabetes doc didnt really pay much attention to her, sad to say but grandmas already old. So her doc said that time that its time for her to start getting injections. She was devastated. Grandpa got her the injector prescribed by this doc, but when I heard about it I asked grandma not to switch to injections. She kept her diet so well and made me so proud of her, but her doc just didnt want to hear about it.... But we saw how much she tried so didnt want her efforts to end this way. She called her diabetes doc and asked her kindly to wait until the next appointment, thats 3 months, and let her be on pills until then. It was hard, but the doc agreed to it. Well, she said that okay then she can start injections from next appointment, so basically she didnt believe that grandmas gonna make any improvements.
Then "next appointment" comes ! In the 3 months my grandma switched up her pills dosage, made her morning BG a lot better and she also kept her diet well, we cooked together a lot. On her appointment now her doc payed more attention to her, she remembered grandma from last appointment. So grandma gets told that she made an amazing progress and her doc also tells her that it was right to not take the injections ! She gets praised well and also, she had a check up at her surgeon as well. She had a brain surgery last year august. Both docs told her how amazing she is. She called me on the phone right after her appointments and she was so so happy that it made me so soo happy too ! Im not a good story teller but I like that on here we can just share it all. I hope everyones doing their best ! X
