After 3 days of entirely "normal" readings, and feeling a little bit cocky, I changed my settings to show the high reading to 7.8, the normal reading for a non-diabetic post prandial.

I got a got a few red spikes and whilst most of them were less than 2 after eating, I now know that I need to cut back on the berries and cream.

I seem to be incredibly sensitive to carbs. I need to keep them to be below 6g per meal. I have also found that having egg and bacon for breakfast, skipping lunch and having an evening meal, suits me best.

Of course this could all go pearshaped at any time, I know that. In the meantime, I am very happy with this app, it is really helpful in analysing and guiding me through this annoying condition.

I love mySugr!

I agree about MySugr, I love the 7, 14, 30 and 90 day averages and the estimated HbA1c. Suits my liking for a bit of number crunching :)

My predicted HbA1c has gone from 34 to 36.3 in two weeks :banghead:

But I do like the app despite all the red spikes of late.

Still well under diabetic or even pre diabetic levels. It’s sad when it goes up isn’t it? Do you know why? That’s the important thing so you can put it right.

I am annoyed with MySgr.

I went on holiday and was wearing a Libre so didn't do any testing, and very little the week after as I still had the Libre. I then resumed as normal, but MySgr started its predicted HbA1c all over again. It hasn't taken the period before my hols in to account. Same with the averages. It only goes back 21 days. Grrrrrr.

Ah that may have answered a question I’ve always had about MySugr. I knew it didn’t track back 12 weeks for the HbA1c estimate as it popped up sooner than that when I started using it but can’t remember exactly when. So does it only track around 2 weeks for the HbA1c?

When I first began using it, and because I test 6 to 8 times a day, the HbA1c popped up fairly quickly - as soon as it had enough data. It was only a few days. It seems to change whenever the average takes it above or below what it says. Mine changed today from 32.6 to 32.5 immediately after I entered a 4.8 reading. So it tracks after every entry, and I assume as soon as you get to 90 days it starts again, but that is just a guess. Mine just stopped tracking because of the 2 week break with no entries. Difficult to explain, but I know what I mean!! Lol.

All the HbA1c is is your average mmol/l converted to mmol/mol. So not a wonderful way to estimate it, but it did tally with the home A1cNow test I did. a few weeks ago. I am having my official HbA1c on Friday so we shall see.

Mine often seems to change at midnight, yes I’m a bit of a night owl! I hope yours is close for your upcoming test on Friday.

If you have your numbers, you can still enter them, just add and change the date.

That’s true, that’s what I did at the start as I started testing a bit before I got the app. It really was a labour of love though! :joyful:

I could have added data from my spreadsheets when I first started with the app, but I didn't like some of the numbers! I was just getting to grips with LCHF.

It's basically because I have recently doubled my daily dose of prednisolone not much I can do about that except hope it does not keep going up at this rate. And that it will settle back down after time or hopefully that I will at some point be able to step preds back down. :)

Edit to remove sad face best to smile in the face of adversity.

That is cheating!!! ;) I have done some random tests in addition to my normal ones in case some were higher, and entered those in MySugr but not on my spreadsheet as I don't have columns for that time of day. I want as much data as possible, good or bad. :)

I don't have my numbers because I wasn't testing - for 2 weeks whilst wearing a Libre sensor. I only did a very few comparison tests and didn't record any.
The figures at each scan will be in the scanner or app logbook, so if you were really bored you could put them all in :)

Blimey, I would have to be ultra bored!! Apart from which, I don't want to confuse matters by entering Libre scores, which are generally lower than my meter ones. Sticking to one measuring device for MySugr is best, I think.
