Hi, I am only recently diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and so have a lot to learn about the condition.
I have managed to cut sugar from my diet and have resorted to using Natvia.
My question is this, Is Natvia the best choice as a sugar replacement?
I am asking because I am trying to avoid Aspartame and Saccharin not only because they taste nasty but also because of their carcinogenic properties.
Any help or advice will be extremely welcome.

Hi @meister268 , welcome to the forums.

Surely, what's 'best' is very subjective? One would think that sweeteners made from Stevia ought to be a more healthy choice because it's a plant extract.

As for other sweeteners, the carcinogenic issues have been debunked in many scientific studies. However, some forum members do report feeling generally unwell if they use artificial sweeteners and it seems as though some people just cannot get on with them.

Hi. Many people use stevia as a sweetener. I wouldn't worry about the carcinogenic properties of some other sweeteners as they used enormous quantities when tested animals; it you eat too much rhubarb or horseradish you could poison yourself. Don't forget all carbs need to be controlled and not just sugar.
