Nausea on waking

So last couple of days I’ve woken up with quite bad nausea - reading on the libre is 4.5 - 4.9 could the drop overnight cause this (I’ve read that hypo symptoms only kick in under 4)
I’m on 2 x 500 mg of metformin twice a day
 
What do your sugar levels usually run at, it could a false hypo, due to levels being lower than usual. Also you could do with a finger prick test to confirm the level.
 
If this continues you must see a doctor. Sorry to alarm you but early morning sickness can be symptomatic of brain cancer.

Jumping from a couple of days of nausea upon waking to brain cancer seems to be a very big leap to me.

It can also be a symptom of a tummy bug, some type of food that doesn't sit well with you, anxiety, hunger, pregnancy (not likely judging by the profile pic, but still), the current heat, or a thousand other things.

Almost any symptom you can have can also be a symptom of cancer. But it's not the first thing to look into, especially not as we're looking at only days of symptoms.
No doctor in the world will test for cancer based on those symptoms.
 
Once again I’m sorry. I did not want to be alarmist but my granddaughter was diagnosed with brain cancer at age two years and we have been going through a difficult time. Her earliest symptom was early morning nausea which I found out is a symptom of brain cancer.i am aware that there can be other causes of early morning nausea but if it continues for a long time it is best to get it checked out by a doctor.

I’m so sorry to hear about your granddaughter @Waffle it must be really difficult and upsetting for all of your family to deal with, you are totally correct that getting anything, including headaches checked out if they persist. But we have to be careful of jumping to conclusions and assuming on the forum

I hope your little granddaughter has the very best of outcomes, no little one should have to go through that.
 
Hi @Paulcambs - from your other posts it seems that you are newly diagnosed, and using CGM for the first time, and on metformin at the same time?

it's all a lot to take in, is bound to feel enormously stressful, and metformin is quite an effectful (in the sense that it has quite an effect on the liver) medication. I'm not surprised at all that your body would take a minute to stabilise.

If your blood sugar has dropped that much so quickly (I think I read HbA1c 126 at the end of July, which equates to CGM level in the 20s) - firstly that's really incredible, you must have made significant changes - carry on doing whatever you are doing; but secondly, it's worth getting back to your GP, and showing the CGM readings and explain the side-effects you seem to be having for this dosage of Metformin.
