Hey guys.
So a couple of weeks ago i had a 72 hour fast in hospital to test for Hypoglycaemia. It was rough im sure all of you know. It turns out i have reactive-hypoglycaemia. That's all i know i haven't been told about diet yet or restrictions.

My questions are ;

i have put on 2 1/2 stone in 3 months due to the fact i am having to eat every hour to get my blood sugar back up. I am like the majority of people i have been reading up on with this condition my sugar dips when i exercise. its gone as low as 1.3 before (scary i know) my weight is still rising and i don't know what or how to shift it safely. im desperate for some advice.

im unsure about what it is ive got to be honest. it hasn’t been explained in full.
can anyone help??????
:(

Hi mango and welcome to the forum :)
I see from your profile that you don't have diabetes.
I hope someone who has knowledge of reactive-hypoglycemia will come along soon to answer your questions.

In the meantime, here is a link to our search engine where I have searched on reactive hypoglycemia which should be helpful for you to have a look at. There are 115 matches.

search.php?keywords=reactive+hypoglycemia&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sr=posts&sk=t&sd=d&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search

I hope this helps you.

hey. thank you. i didnt select diabetes because im still waiting for an appointment with my specialist to tell me weather its diabetes based or not. i didnt want to put it up if i didnt have it. thank you for the links.

I saw something on TV about someone suffering hypoglycaemia and it was to do with some little benign nodule on the pancreas that made it produce too much insulin. This was reported as a 1 in 1000000 problem so might have nothing to do with you. Can tell you the nodule was removed and life went back to normal. The guy was a roofer and had to quit his job and stop driving because of the hypos and also put on lots of weight as he also had to eat all the time to stop keeling over. Not totally sure but think I watched it on a show called RPA (Royal Prince Alfred) which is on channel 9 (WIN) in Australia.
