Hi my name is Richard 35. I was diagnosed with T2 in Dec 2013. I have lost a total of 2 stones and so far kept BS levels around 10. I now need to get into exercising. Need a kick up the ass any one in Basildon Essex willing to kick my ass in to gear let me know lol

i do it in small steps 15mins x4 times a day on the treadmill ,breaks it up and get the exersize you need while watching tv lol. im same as you dec 13 type 2 im at 7 stone loss so its working whatever you decide to do it will be benificail x

i would invest in some sessions with a personal trainer, its expensive at £40 per hour and its dreadful, emphasis on dreadful, but it really got me into exercise, i signed up for 12 sessions and wasnt going to waste the money, but i dont think i would have carried on exercising without the kick up the bum they give you, it hurts and i dreaded every session but in the twelve weeks you start to see the difference and the feeling of success is a massive inspiration to carry on (well it was for me) well done on your efforts :) keep it up, your doing great!

Richard, in my opinion, personal trainers, gyms et al, are OK for some, but the only real way is for you to want to and get in the mindset that you have to.

I was diagnosed Mid May this year and it frightened the bejesus out of me, I don't scare easily, I have five children and four of them are girls lol .

However onto the point, haven't properly exercised for over 40 years and slowly but surely attained a weight of approaching 15 stone,I'm 5'10" well built. Then the diagnosis. After two months I am down to 12st 13lbs, purely through diet and 5 minutes of vigorous exercise per day, no gym membership no personal trainer just pure bloody mindedness that diabetes nor anything else will stop me from seeing my girls get married. Eldest 32, has just done that, now I have 3 more, 22, 20 & 11.

You just need to find your personal trigger and I am sure you will get there.

Others will doubtless be along to give you better and more informed advice, go for it and don't wait.

Wishing you all the best
