Hi Andy, how long have you had T1 and do you rotate your sites? What you describe could be linked to lipoatrophy from not rotating sites enough.

Hi Andrew, do you carb count ? because it could be you are having too much Insulin and therefore going low. Also, there could be an underlying medical condition that is making your body absorb the Insulin so quickly.
Lately, I have found I have to take much less Insulin for lunch and if I am busy, active, then my ratio is now about 12/ 14 to 10 carbs !
Have a chat with your DSN or with your hospital diabetes nurses, for help and advice.
Good luck.

I’m 27 years type 1 I do rotate but I do have some lumpy areas on my side and tummy and that’s where it seems to happen at I have since started on my legs again as I wanted to give them a break but I would say your not far wrong in what your saying

DSN, Diabetes Specialist Nurse. I would definitely try and carb count, if 10 units is possibly too much, try 7 or 8. I am along timer but still get things wrong, so, always learning.

You could try your arms or your bottom. I had a fatty build ups in my stomach a few years ago and started using other sites, it's rotating the site area's.

You have type 1 for 27 years, but you don't carb count and don't know what a DSN is.............. surely you must see a diabetes specialist of some sort, either at your surgery or at the hospital ?

@andydry100 - If you're keen to carb count, but waiting a while for your course, you could have a look at the BERTIE course, which is, as I understand it a sort of self-service DAFNE.

To e clear, I'm not T1, so haven't experienced DAFNE or BERTIE.

https://www.bertieonline.org.uk/

It's free to do.

The App Carbs and Cals is really helpful too - far more so than the book because the App updates regularly and is also a lot cheaper. It has pictures of food on 7" plates so you can work out your carb intake relatively easily.
