Hi, brief history I was diagnosed in 2018 and was able to keep everything under control with diet exercise and weight loss.
A few years later I entered up having bowel issues and could only eat unhealthy food for a while after an operation….which broke all my good habits
I never really monitored my blood sugar levels but my hba1c was 75 in October and 67 in February… testing my blood at home now and ranging from 6.6 to 11.8 over last few days despite not eating any sweet foots and greatly reducing my carbs
I’ve started walking again every day even if only for 30 mins
Have I any hope of getting this under control without taking medication…. Feeling very defeated
Any advice, support greatly appreciated

Hi and welcome.

Well, you've done it once so you can probably do it again. You know what you need to do. carb eaten will be converted to glucose and us T2s tend not to be able to handle large amounts of that. You've reduced your HbA1c some between October and February, so what you did then seems to be working. Why not keep on with that and see how it goes?

if you're testing your blood regularly and in a structured way (ie before eating and two hours later) you should be seeing (from the higher readings) what foods have just too much carb for you to handle. You can reduce or cut these out, and see what happens.

Best of luck.
