I hope someone can tell me what to do!over the years me and my mum and now my youngest daughter had what we term "low blood sugar moods".it was quite noticeable in my mum and daughter as first thing in the morning-until they had eaten-were quite rude and stroppy!i get the same when i haven't eaten or missed a meal.my mum who is 79 now was diagnosed type 2 diabetes 2 years ago but because she is elderly we thought it par for the course.i have over the years known when i needed to eat so i didn't "get shaky" and it was never a problem.the only time i felt really ok was recently when i went on a diet and lost a stone and was exercising.i didn't get weak/tired or feel shaky at lack of food.since then i went on hols-ate way too much-stopped exercising and went back to ordinary food and i feel dreadful most days.i feel hungry way before it's lunchtime and if i don't eat i feel terrible.recently when out i started to feel really ill and grabbed some chocolate biscuits and felt awful half an hour later-really confused/tired and had headache.i decided to buy a blood glucose test from boots.i tested one at 8pm last night 2hrs after i ate and it said 8.then this morning i retested 2hrs after breakfast it was still 8.i realise i need to watch what i eat and go back to exercising and i am really not that overweight.i don't eat chocolate/sweets or endless amounts of burgers.my main diet is actually pasta.
it said on boots test to see doctor but do i need to?would it be enough just to go back to watching my food?
sorry it's so long and i've probably rambled!honestly i don't feel well now-very tired again 'and can't concentrate.
thanks for any info and advice
