What do people take to work for their lunch? I usually have porridge for breakfast and then fish in tomato sauce on two slices of toast and an apple and orange. However having been newly diagnosed as T2 I am struggling for ideas,

If you are lower carbing then porridge and toast may not be an ideal breakfast. For lunch I would go for a simple salad of lettuce, tomato, boiled egg with ham, chicken or other cold meats. Home made soup is also easy if you can warm it up.

If you have one of those wide-necked food flasks, you can take almost anything for lunch. Just make too much dinner then take the leftovers for lunch the next day.

I have given up porridge. Instead of eating it, you can pop some in a bowl and soak your feet - it is a great moisturiser! (Seriously)

Homemade carrot and leak and butternut squash soup in a soup flask.sometimes mushroom. I make big batches and then freeze always ensuring a plentiful supply.

I have fresh cauliflower, sprouts ( I love them raw), cheese, grapes and nuts. It's lovely and I prepare it the night before. I only get a 15 minute break so no time to reheat and eat! X

Do you have a meter. You need to test what foods cause you to have a high bs, then you can decide what foods you can eat, that you like, and what foods you need to miss out now.

l have 5 small slices of pepperami
3 spring onions or 30g weight
2 cracerbread
60gram chedder
100g full fat greek yogurt
50g raspberries

Due a change as had that for about 6 weeks when pepperami runs out have 0.5 tin of tuna in sunflower oil. Undecided on the rest

You will need a meter to see how your diet is. The by word l have come to the conclusion in this game is "ignore"
The dr and dn seem to live in an nhs gaga land and have this god complex...they seem to think if they can hold all the cards we will worship them. Both are eronious conclusions but they cling to it.
A meter is the most importaint item you can get :-)
