Need help

Most important thing is that it's something you enjoy.

Otherwise, you won't do it, and that's useless.
Personally, yoga, walking the dog, mountain biking, Capoeira etc.
Anything you want to. There are loads of classes springing up right now.

Personally, I'd suggest a martial arts class. Can be helpful to absolutely everyone, and can be done at any level of fitness, well, some you have to be in a bit better shape for.

You get to meet people, have a lot of fun, learn a new skill, and feel safer in your own skin, not that you'll ever need to.

I just walk, and walk, and walk......... just come back from a walk....lots of people to greet, lots of things to see.

My diabetes specialist always reminds me that walking is good but you need to make sure it isn't all done on the flat. He said "You'll get huge amounts more out of it if you take some hills into your walks". My walks take me over the South Downs and into the countryside nowadays and I feel so much better for it! It gets the heart rate up nicely as you go up one side and you get to see so much more from a hill top! :D

Not many hills in Sutton Coldfield so my walking is mainly on the flat. However to get the old heart pumping I make them brisk walks, anything that ups the heart rate is good exercise. At the end of it I am fairly glowing and the heart is pumping, then I just slow down gradually until everything is back to normal. Do that every day for about an hour and you will be as fit as a 'Butchers Dog !!' :D

Anaida
Start by walking. It 0nly needs comfortable shoes and doesn't cost anything. Do you have a local authority run sports centre which has classes? I find I attend classes regularly, when I wouldn't necessarily go on my own and it's a way to make new friends.
