need information please

Hi I am a 52 year old male, Unfortunately I do not have access to a GP or any healthcare services,
I suffer with blackouts "brain fog", absences and anxiety and the only think that temporarily improves the situation is 2 teaspoons of white sugar dissolved in water (honey has no effect), that's why I suspect blood sugar issues, if anyone can point me in the right direction for information so I can research and hopefully resolve these problems I would be very greatfull.

Hi. Yes, Reactive Hypoglycemia comes to mind as well. It could be anything but worth buying a meter so you can check your blood sugar when you feel dizzy.

I agree with the others - getting a blood glucose meter as a first, short term step. Please shop around, and you will probably find the best prices online (the SD Codefree and the Tee2 are amongst the best longterm value for money).

Have a read around too. We've got lots of threads on RH coping mechanisms (mainly diet!) in the reactive hypoglycaemia section of the forum

But i do urge you to get yourself some kind of medical care. Register with a doc, or visit a drop in centre.

There are other things than RH that this could be - so you really do need some expert investigation, if only to eliminate those other possibilities.
 
Not sure why you don't or can't get a GP. All will see you as a temporary resident for immediate and necessary treatment. If for some reason you are not allowed to stay in a GPs list for any period of time then NHS England is responsible for ensuring you get GP care and can force a practice to see you. If you are in the UK and don't have the right to reside here they will still see you under immediate and necessary

I agree a glucose meter seems an excellent idea, regular testing along with tests when the symptoms occur will provide data to see if there is any correlation between the levels and the symptoms.

Thanks for the concern, but I have tried all of the above avenues without success,
 
Have you tried PALS the patient liaison service? They mainly work at hospitals but if they couldn't help they would know where to direct you for help to see a doctor.

Yes, a plan, it will work in the short term but a true diagnostic testing is what iis needed to make sure you only have blood glucose issues.
There are many forms of hypoglycaemia and other pancreatic disorders with the same symptoms.
So a specialist is required to get a true picture what is happening.

Diet is a good way to treat blood glucose issues but getting sorted is more important.

Read up on our forum and other low carb forums to find the best way to get control. And let us know how you are getting on.

Low blood sugar should react just fine to honey. I agree with above, only testing will show if your problems have anything to do with blood sugar. I wouldn't rule out the possibility your feelings are anxiety-related, or something else completely. I hope you'll feel better soon, and get access to health care!
