Hi All
Hope someone can help me. I am due to GP in the next couple of weeks and due to my horrible HBA1C I am 100% sure he will advise i go on insulin. This freaks me out for a lot of reasons - mainly the weight gain..i do not need to add more to the multiple stones I already have.
Reading some topics that have appeared about insulin resistance and liver dumping glucose on low carbing, i am thinking that probably i do not have much option other than going on insulin. Also i am hoping that maybe in a couple of years I can try and get pregnant, so i have about 1 1/2 to drastically improve my BG.
There are alot of different names of insulin mentioned and i have no idea what they do....some people seem to have their bg's all over the place when they are on insulin...i wish i could go to the GP and if he mentions insulin, maybe try and give some opinion as to what i want etc rather than be completely in the dark.
I do not know what confidence i can place that insulin would be the right path. i really cant afford to put on more weight...
i would really really appreciate it if either i can be redirected to a post etc (this place is really a huge minefield
) or if i can have some experience of people who are on insulin and the types they are on....
i am very confused and it is a bit overwhelming....
thanks everyone!
