Need some advice

Hi I’m type two diabetic on metformin and insulin currently 17 weeks pregnant and yesterday I wasn’t well with trapped wind and sulfur burps.

I didn’t eat much at all as I felt so ill

My blood sugars were fine and I had 0.3 ketones in my blood.

I have done my bloods this morning an hour after breakfast and they were 8.6 and checked my ketones and they were 1.5.

Will the ketones be because I didn’t eat enough yesterday?

What’s the best way to get rid of them?

I feel so much better today

Hi. I'm no expert on this area, but ketones in themselves may not be a problem and will be due to burning fat; athletes may produce ketones. The danger is if you have excess ketones and high blood sugar causing DKA. This can happen to T1s who have missed their insulin over several days
