Need some tech help please

I need some tech help please. When I turned on my computer this morning it was automatically deleting files( never seen this before). When it finished, I went to my gmail account but it is NOT the same, it has been changed ( by gmail/google?) to a totally different one with a username that I haven't used for ages and not on gmail. I assumed my original username/account has been deleted, so decided to try and open a new account but using the same original name again( that I had last night, that's the last time I used it) and it said, sorry this username is being already being used!!!! I can't get anywhere with this all. I have tried the help line, but hitting a brick wall. I can only think my account was deleted or /and corrupted. Also the username now is a name I had on Google + in 2012 !!!! but hardly ever used it. Any idea's or tech help would be really appreciated, as I'm not technically minded with the workings of computers. Many thanks.:-)
 
Hello I was trying to restore the computer to another time. My teenager came home, I told her the problem I was shaving and she went to the icon, logged out, then deleted the new user name and I put in original one and password and hey presto it was back, couldn't believe it, but so pleased so gave her a big hug and a treat :) I will leave things alone in the future, I wasted hours and it took her less than 5 minutes :angelic:

I don't think that will happen Andy, as I have a granddaughter 4 weeks younger than my own teenager (niece and aunty) lol I think it will be the next generation after that;)
