Hello all,
I am in need of some advise on what is wrong with me since my D.K.A before Christmas?
Long story short I was taken to hospital before Christmas with gastritis (enflamed stomach) meaning I couldn't keep anything down food, water nothing, but they said that my diabetes was up s*** creek also, I've been diabetic for nearly 10 years now and I recon I've never really come to terms that its a serious condition that I need to keep on top off it, I was in hospital for 5 days trying to get my ketones down and sort out my stomach pains.
After being released I was signed off for 2 weeks to recover and I did get my strength back and tried to get back to normal, I 100% got knocked for 6 and I don't think I've be the same.
I went back to work and after the first week I eased myself into it but then on the Monday, 1 week back I blacked out and collapsed for a few minutes, I came back round and I was fine, the ambulance said it wasn't to do with my diabetes but it was more to do with low blood pressure which I have never suffered from before, nor blacking out in anyway, shape or form.
Then most recently I have just got over a batch off food poisoning from my local Indian.
I am under the diabetic care at my local hospital and currently having sessions with a physiatrist to talk about everything which is a great help, but I still cant explain why I am feeling so ****!
I feel at times very weak and tired, some days I can be happy and up beat but then days I have felt really depressed and down, my reading have been all over the place since this happened, I will have a high reading of say 23.8 I shall do a correction dose and test 2 hours later, not eaten or drank anything to cause it to rise or effect the reading and still end up on 24.2 and that's 2 hours later, the hospital kept telling me it might be my injection sites but I am 100% sure its not as I mix between my stomach and legs.
I am really struggling with my condition at the moment and its getting me down, can anyone make sense of me and maybe be able to help me in anyway possible?
I already have reminders set on my smart watch to remind me to test every couple of hours and I inject each time I eat and drink with carbs in them, I don't know what else I can really do?
Thanks.
