My daughter applied to join the Police cadets, there were around 160 applicants for 116 places. They screened out some who were unsuitable, and today my daughter has her interview. She is only 15, yet wants this so badly, as the do the Duke of Edinburgh award as well as all kinds of things that she is really interested in. She is such an untypical teenager, she attends an art club once a week, and on a Saturday will go shopping with her friend in Newcastle or the Metro center, but apart from that stays home and studies. I so want her to get this, she deserves it so much. Please send out positive thoughts for her this evening. Her interview is at 6:30.

Sweetheart you are as your name suggests. Thank you. She is quite a quiet child, but has a smile that can light up a room. She wants this so badly. I can only remember her once wanting something so badly, and that was to do well in her exams at the end of last year, so when she began her options years she would get into good sets. The result of that was she passed and is now doing the English baccalaureate. She knows the Police cadets are not based on achievement at school alone, but an all round personality, so is just hoping she makes it.

Bless you Jan - thank you! I must admit she has an iron will (just like her mom) so I am hoping that helps her.
