Neuropathy or Not Neuropathy

Hi, I am 62 Type 2 over 16 years. I am on Insulin and one Tab metformin. For the past 6 years I have had a problem with my feet mainly the ball and big toes on each foot. They are painful and give the feeling of coldness but are not. When I lie down pain goes away but when I stand for long periods the pain in my feet and back are horrible. Been to the Docs many times and he keeps saying neuropathy but I have been to seen two diabetes specialists, cost over £400 per time, and both said no it was not neuropathy. I have perfect feeling to touch, feather test, in both feet. Not knowing what neuropathy in feet is like, or maybe I do, would love to here others opinions. Ta

Bearing in mind that I am not a medical professional, so can't give any advice whatsoever, two things spring to mind:
- if the feeling is dependent on you being in certain positions, then it could be to do with trapped nerves if the nerve is less/more trapped in certain positions.
- alternatively, you could look into B12 deficiency. We have had posters on here who were diagnosed with neuropathy, who later discovered that it was B12 deficiency - which is also progressive, and benefits from early treatment.

I would suggest talking to a chiropractor or osteopath about the nerve, and (as a first step) looking at you tube videos and internet research for the B12. There are some videos of documentaries and lectures on you tube that are very interesting.

Hope that helps.
