Has anyone found anything that helps with neuropathy ?
Hi
@Jamietomkinson1990 I understand what your going through, not getting any sleep at nights is debilitating.
I was prescribed Amitriptyline, to help me get some relief from neuropathy in my feet at nights and let me sleep. I fond it worked the tables made me drowsy enough to get to sleep and mask the pain enough to let me sleep through the night.
If you haven't tried them yet it might be worth asking your Doctor.
Full disclosure I stopped taking them as I did not like the side effect, feeling hungover the next day for a few hours in the mornings. I just don't like feeling hungover.
A couple of tips that help to lessen the pain on those evening you I cant get to sleep.
Get up and move around this helps blood flow to the legs and lessens the pain in my feet.
Get a couple of hours sleep in an arm chair instead of bed. Feet on the floor not raised, again this is to increase blood flow to the legs.
There are a few articles on the internet about the benefits of exercise in lessening the effects of neuropathy, what little I have gleamed from them is they are promoting increased circulation.
Have you tried using an
Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) foot massager. I even use
magnetic handwarmers, round ones to curl my toes around, to in crease circulation which helps lessen the pain.
A common side effect of my neuropathy is the feeling of ants itching or crawling over my hands the magnetic hand warmers help me so much that it takes that sensation away almost immediately. Heat increase circulation.
Sorry your having such a hard time of it just now.
