Neuropothy: what is the latest study?

I ask this question, as I have not heard much progress. I suffer with Charcot's disease in both feet.
EXTREMELY painful 24 hours a day.
Have contemplated making a request to have both feet amputated.
Have been told ' not an option'. This coming from normal people that call themselves 'specialists'.
Any advise from anyone?
