Never thought I'd see this.. wowsers

Eyeopening. Wish I had known about this a couple of days ago, there is a certain thread I would have linked it in.
 
Finally found the report after searching for the author's name on the BDA site... to say it is lukewarm would be an understatement

Though she does concede there is much to like. A smaller step forward than reported but still forward. Everyone demands evidence but ignores what evidence there is currently and what is being done
 
It still seems to be saying that 'starches' are good, and 'sugars' are bad, with no recognition that they are both carbs and harmful to many type 2 diabetics. As can be pulses and beans
 
Yes the opening sentence hinted at a better conclusion than the article delivered, I'm afraid.
