New abbott meter??

Just seen my DSN and were discussing CGMS and the costs of self funding.

She mentions that she,d heard abbott were about to launch a meter that does not need a finger prick, she seemed to think you will just scan the arm, either from an implant or patch??? And how this would possibly be a better/cheaper solution. She mentioned the Diabetes UK convention is in march and she was hoping to hear about it there.

My question is, has anyone heard similar, or could she be mistaken??
 
There are a few devices being developed at the moment that don't require a finger prick but unfortunately, I've not seen any yet that are suitable for a T1 due to the lag time between the measured result and the actual BG level. The best noninvasive device I've seen so far had a lag of about an hour and a half!

Sounds great and would welcome such a meter, no finger pricks..............bliss :)
