Hi Everyone, like alot of others from what I'm reading, my son Ben who is 14 was rushed into hospital on Saturday, his body shutting down, but with miracle workers at the Royal Gwent in Newport he was on the road to recovery in four hours. He's been diagnosed with type 1 and to say we're shocked is an understatement. However the recovery, the diabetic team and Ben have all calmed our nerves. He's home now, self testing and self injecting after only 48 hours in hospital. He is particularly sporty, loves playing football, is a top welsh runner(cross-country) and is a live wire. Does anyone else have a son in similar cirqs who could perhaps give us advice about diabetes and managing it around an intense training programme.
