Good Morning,
I have recently been diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes (at 28weeks) and yesterday got all my home testing stuff and my target levels; the intention is to manage by diet as I'm keen to avoid insulin which will have a serious impact on any birth plans.
This is only my second day of testing at home and 'm confused with my pre bedtime/pre breakfast reading..
Last night the readings were 7.4 @ 22.53pm; then 6.3 @ 23.41pm. i was a bit hungry so I had 1 digestive biscuit and a banana thinking it wasn't too clever to go to bed feeling hungry.
This morning I tested pre breakfast (9.15am) and got an initial reading of 7.5 - how can this still be that high compared to my pre bedtime readings? It's not like I went mad and ate the whole packet of biscuits..
Can anyone shed any light?
thanks,
Therese
