I replaced by Dexcom One+ sensor a few days ago. The new position was in a similar position to my previous sensor on my abdomen (just to the side and slightly above the navel). This time there was some bleeding when I installed the new sensor. Blood came up through the little hole on the top of the sensor. The readings did seem to be a bit more random than on the previous sensor and after about 12 hours I got a "Brief Sensor Issue Alert" ... see https://www.dexcom.com/en-NZ/faqs/i-received-a-brief-sensor-issue-alert.
The One+ readings did eventually come back, but they were lower than before, some below 4.0. Overnight i got some LOW readings (too low to measure). I did a few sensor calibrations the following morning after that to align the CGM readings with my Contour Next glucose meter. The sensor now seems to be behaving normally, so I did not replace it with a new sensor. I suspect the erratic behaviour was due to the bleeding when I installed the new sensor.
I did put in a support ticket to Dexcom because the problem persisted intermittently for more than 3 hours. They posted me a replacement sensor.
