New Diet - Rapid BS Drop

Hello everyone,

I have type 1 diabetes for 31 years and recently I started a new diet 3 weeks ago, a very low carb with tons of healthy fruits and vegs one and realized that around 4 hours after a meal (when I start getting hungry) my bs drops way too fast, as if I had insulin.

Well, I guess that part commonly happens to everyone but my problem is, no matter how much sugar, chocolate, ice cream I eat, my bs never increases until I got unhealthy carbs like pasta or bread. Is this common as well? Did anyone get any experience in such a situation?

What insulins are you taking and are you still insulin dosing for your new diet ? 4 hours after eating would indicate that your fast acting insulin (if you're taking this) is too much, otherwise I would be checking my basal insulin by doing some fasting tests to check my dose was at the right level.

Well, I use novorapid flexpen and I choose a dosage depends on what I eat but the tricky part is 3 to 4 hours after the injection my bs goes really smooth and stable. The problem starts around after hour-4 when I got hungry.

But anyway, that part is fairly tolerable but if you or anyone else can enlighten me about the second part of my question, I would really appreciate it.
 
If the problem occurs once your fast acting insulin has worn off, that suggestions you may want to check your slow acting insulin.
You may benefit from doing a basal test to check your dose.
 
Thank you all for your answers, though I'm still curious about one of my questions above, which is the oddest to me that during these times, whatever I eat, my BS never increases. Under normal circumstances, it's supposed to reach above 30 (yes, just to test it, I ate that much of desert many times for the last couple of weeks) I checked my BS with 4 different devices, all same result. Any ideas?
