Hello everyone! I am so happy to have joined this forum. I was diagnosed in mid December 2016 with a HbA1c of 9.1
I was so scared and came across this forum. I am so happy to write that I tried to follow the advice on low carb immediately.
I had my check yesterday.
HbA1c down to 5.8
Weight is 15 kg less.
Best part...i am able to eat more carb now
Thank you so so much for all the great advice and help. Hope I can keep up with similar results. It is tough at times but there is so much motivation here.
However, i am noticing that when my BG is near 5, i start feeling hungry and a bit dizzy. Is it normal? Thanks

Well done!
That is a great turnaround. :)

You mentioned feeling wobbly when your blood glucose drops to 5s.

Sometimes, when our bodies are used to higher numbers it feels odd to go lower than usual. It is called a false hypo (actual hypos don't happen until we dip below 4mmol/l).

But it certainly feels weird, even though being in the 5s is actually a great and healthy blood glucose range :)

What you will probably find is that as your numbers continue to drift lower, and stabilise, being in the 5s will start to feel as normal to you as the higher numbers used to be.

Hope that helps :)

Thank you @Brunneria ...i think what you wrote makes perfect sense. That means i shouldn't be scared and eat carbs when i feel like this. I do feel very hungry at that level though
