Hello there,
I hope you are all doing well.
I am new here, I've been diabetic for a little over ten years.
My Ac1 have been good for the last few years until two years ago where I stood at 8 -8.5 (yikes)
Any suggestions on getting it down I am hoping to get it down to 7 or lower by Oct.
Welcome to the forums! Lots of sympathetic listeners here even if we can't help you get your blood sugars down.
So, I guess the first questions are
1) what's different between now and a few years ago when your bg level was lower?
2) what's your insulin regime (basal/bolus or pump or ...?)
3) how much testing are you doing and can you get access to a cgm?
4) are you getting any help from your doctor/clinic?
Personally, I've always found that my bg level improves dramatically when I do more testing....
Hello and welcome @t1d08
Personally i’ve managed to lower my HbA1c simply by exercising more, lower carb and using a libre - being able to see trends with my bg levels and act on them and make adjustments where and when means I don’t wait for things to get worse and am in better control, I still have my off days like yesterday when I was hitting 14 most of the day but they are rare. Also get yourself ‘think like a pancreas’ ideal for building your knowledge up.
Hello! What’s happening in October? Just curious!
