I was interested to see in this issue that the above new treatment was being trumpeted as useful in the case of foot ulcers, and the like. I'm pleased to hear that it is new, but it ISN'T. This treatment was devised in WW2 by Japanese prisoners of war who had to invent alternative treatments in the absence of medicines coming from their captors. It was very successful. I vaguely remember reading of a similar system being used in Africa in WW1.
Perhaps we should look/check the history books for "new" remedies? It would be cheaper than somebody being paid large sums for "inventing" this?

You are right, this is far from new and it is very effective. They have been using maggots for debridement and leeches for removing old stale blood and increasing blood flow to reattached body parts in North America for some time and hailing it as new.
