Hello everyone
I am so pleased to have found this forum, thank you to all the kind and helpful members.
I am 74, generally fit and healthy, active and not overweight. Nevertheless I have been diagnosed in the past as prediabetic.
Although my last NHS test results showed that my hb1ac was lowered, I’ve had a feeling recently that I should be monitoring things. Then I had a random very high reading when I did a test, knowing that eaten too many carbs. Is it possible have a one off very high result?
The results have been much lower since then but could someone please tell me the pre and post prandial desired figures for finger tick tests.
Also, does anyone have experience of hydration making a real difference?
Many thanks.

A random test (assuming you mean a finger prick bg test) means nothing in isolation
I believe idea range is 4-7 in non-diabetics
Post prandial should be more more than 2 above the pre prandial

Hopefully some more knowledgeable people than me will be along soon

Sorry, I'm a partially sighted bad typist
Post prandial should be NO more than 2 above the pre
