I recently changed my blood glucose meter from a Bayer Contour which was 5 years old, to a Bayer contour NEXT and have noticed that my readings are now a lot higher eg. Fasting overnight old meter reading normally between 5 and 6 New meter reading between 8 and 10. This is quite disturbing as I am doing nothing different, is this normal? are the newer meters readings more accurate or have i got a dud meter
My last two HBA1C readings were 56 and 53 and diabetes specialist nurse was pleased with my control at last meeting

Diagnosed 2010
Medication
1 X Humelin (insulin) injection each morning currently 18 units
4 X 500 mg Metformin
4 X 80 mg Gliclazide
1 X 10 mg Sitagliptin

Hi @woody309

Welcome to the forums.

You can contact the meter manufacturer and get a control solution to test your meter if you're having doubts.
