There's a good chance of this happening as well.To start with, I'd look up the telephone number for accu check, they might well send you a new one for free as they want you to keep buying their test strips
I got a free Accu-Chek Performa as a upgrade on my old Performa.Would be nice if Accu Check did the same thing !!
No that's how I got my contour next one took a little longer than five days though.I have never paid for a meter. I went online and filled out a questioner on the Accu-Chek website and 5 days later there was one at my door step. I’ve done it three times in the last four years.
Might be different in the UK

Also if you have a Accu-chek aviva it downloads your BG with wifi to the mySugr app. With that mySugr gives you a free up grade to the mypro version. The Accu test strips costing more than most may have something to do with their good service when meters stop working.
