New to forum, 16 year old type 1

Hi!
Just been diagnosed with type one diabetes 5 weeks ago.
Hoping to find some other young people who are on the same boat as me

Sarah, I know someone on the forum who is just a little younger than you-13 but has type 1 also. I will tag him for you @mc9.
 
Hi there Sarah, my 18 yo daughter belongs to the Facebook group, Type One Teens. It was set up by the daughter, Georgia, of the admin of a couple of parents groups I belong to. It's quite an active little community - no parents allowed! Also, Diabetes UK do some fantastic care events for teens - Centre Parc weeks for example which are a great place to meet others in your situation. You also might like to become a JDRF Youth Ambassador and once again you will get the chance to meet others.

You're probably overwhelmed with your new diagnosis but there's no better people to see it from your point of view than other teens!

There are some chat threads in the Children and Teens section, and there are a number of younger Type 1s in the Type 1 section too :)
