hello to all.
i have been diabetic for around 6 weeks although i have not been told if its type 1 or 2.
i had tests early on in the year for diabetes to be told by my g.p i was impared glucose tolerant (whatever that is) and sent on my way.
few months later and i had been drinking alot, weeing and feeling tired all the time. my work mate who is type 1, checked my blood which came up on his meter as 22.4 and advised i went to the emergency g.p. after another check, told i could poss be type 2 and to arrange an appointment with my own g.p.
the following evening i was watching t.v with my mrs and she noticed i had drank 8 pints of water in the space of 20 mins had a wee and was drinking more water. she again phoned our emergency gp who told her to get me to the emergency dr for a blood sugar check. the result just said HI on the meter and i was taken to emergency ward and put on insulin for 3 days.

i am now taking insulatard in morning and evening, and trying to loose weight and eat more heathy lol.
thanks for reading and hello to everyone again

Hi Redrev, you will find all the information you weren't told by your doctor here :D

Cugilla or Sue will no doubt be along soon to post the usual 'new to diabetes' information for you, its good information and will have your blood glucose levels down in no time if you follow it.

Ask any questions you may have, there are many very knowledgeable Type1's and 2's here who will have most of the answers.
