Hi All

As you may be aware James started on his Accu Chek Pump 31 August this year. Had a Pump clinic on Monday and HbA1c is down from 7.4 to 6.3 already but Consultant was not happy with it being as low and quite honestly I think it is too low too soon. I fear it has been at a price owing to the number of hypos James has experienced in trying to get his profiles right with the back and fore of tweaking. It has been tweaked again this week and I think we are getting there now with better all round results. We seem to get far better results when he is in his school routine, but when it was half term the other day, he went out quite a bit with his mates for kickabouts and this is when he was experiencing a lot of hypos, even though TBR's were being entered. Clinic again is in January and I hope he can be back around 7.0 as he is still gaining weight and height and I do so want this to continue.

All in all I have got to say that the pump I think is the best way forward now for him as he does say he feels a lot better in himself. Next thing on the agenda now is his mock GCSE's so hope the pump helps him get through these exams.
So onwards and upwards.
:D

Hi Yvonne

We had clinic yesterday and thought i'd let you know they are very pleased with how things are going and was very surprised at her Hba1c going from 7.8 to 7.0!
Only been on the pump 2.5 weeks and the week before she started she had high levels due to acute tendonitis in her foot and the week before that was really high levels with a cold and sore throat bug!
Got to go back in 2 months, so nice to see all the sleepness nights and hard work are paying off :)
