Honest answer, nothing :)

Lol .. Ok I have read that you clean the area with sterile wipe but better finding out from the people that use the pump

Hi - I change set after a shower if I can but failing that wipe with a damp piece of kitchen paper and dry it with another piece and that's it. Had sets in for 4 years now and never had a problem and all sites look clean and heal well (use bio oil on my stomach sites when I remember)

When I first started using infusion sets, I did buy some alcohol wipes to wipe the skin prior, but after a while I gave up caring and just inserted into clean skin with no problem. I heal fairly ok so dont use Bio Oil but if I can be bothered to remember, I use a vitamin E capsule and pierce that to wipe on my skin when I am not using the same area for insertion. I do wipe the skin with an alcohol swab prior to inserting a set in my backside as sometimes the adhesive tends to curl a bit at the edges so I now stick some tape like Transpore clear over the adhesive to prevent.

I bought some Sterets swabs but my pump DSN advised against using them saying they dried the skin out, she just said as long as the skin is clean there's no need to use any sort of pre-infusion wipes.

I think it might be wise for men to shave the area on their tummy, legs or arms prior to inserting a set as pulling the adhesive off when removing from the skin is a bit painful if hairs are also being pulled out

Thanks for all the info I try and change it after a shower think that is the best idea

Never used anything with injections, so haven't with sets. Do use bio oil after baths but well massaged in and towel rubbed hard clean for the new set to be sure of sticking.
