Hello I'm a british national living in holland.. was diagnosed in 2008 with diabetes and tried the conventional diet given from a diabetes dietist.. but have steadily gained more weight and increased my medication since then.. very unhappy..
since 1 month i have done a turnaround and gone LCHF...
Does anyone know how to translate the european numbers..
I'm on a LCHF way of eating since 1 month and have lost 10 kilo's with no exercise as my foot was broken..
My doctor here in holland is happy but i would like to know how to understand more deeply my diabetes numbers and translate them into american numbers..
With the calculator it's too easy i want an indepth way to translate..for eg. my 3 months nuchter( fasting) is 7.8; my GLYHb (HBA1c) (%) is 40.. the easy calculator gives just numbers but i want to know what they mean and if they are still in the diabtetes range or if there is a significant chane for a reverse, which is what i'm trying to do...
My doctor was concerned if my cholesterol would go up, but it didnot!!! I have never felt so good in years..
I eat everything full eg milk, cheese, butter, yogurt, cream, clotted cream, fat left on meat etc.. no bread hardly no potato's, some rice crackers a few times a month..
I donot use sweeteners and feel better from it.. i use honey sparingly, stevia in coffee, and alot of bananas in smoothies and in dark green leaf smoothies(for folate(folium acid))..
I cook with butter, pork fat, and coconut oil..
In 1 month time by body is telling me its happy.. i dont forget so much anymore aswell...
I have had pasta twice this month, but i don't miss it at all.. i can go from 6pm till 9am without having cravings of any kind such a big difference..
Is anyone else experiencing this...
