hi every one my name is allan type 1 diabetic for about 20 yrs,having a bit of a bad time controling sugers at the moment,went to diabetic yesterday blood suger was 25.2,so told to increase insulin i been using a nova pen what do you mean by a insulin pump? having a lot of trouble with feet toes completly numb he tested up to my knee with a pin could not feel anything till he got near my knee.i am on400mg of gabapentin capsules helps but seem to be having side affects body realy sore flu like suffer from arthritis as well so maybee thats the prob,any way hope to get involved with forum and hope you are all well.allan

Hi Alan welcome to the forum,

what insulin are you on? i fear you may be on novomix as you only mention a novopen.

maybe you could try another medication to help with your neuropathy, something like pregablin may have less side effects for you

Welcome! you're another one who might find the low carb plan helpful. Try it, you can't be hurt by it.
Otherwise I read that Benfotiamine is good for neuropathy and nephropathy.
