Somebody said in reply to my posting that a Type 2 on diet alone won't go hypo. Well that's true according to nearly every textbook, however in my own diabetic researching at the time when I was just on diet control (I'm still a Type 2)
I went hypo after eating a high Gi/GL meal and drink, exercising heavily by cycling several miles, rushing about on a hot day and then virtually passing out with all the symptoms of having a Hypo.
I repeated exactly what had take place a week later and the same thing happened, only this time I had my B/G meter with me and my reading was down to 2.8 mmol/L (full blood plasma)
My Dr and diabetic nurse ALL said 'You can't go Hypo you're a Type 2 on diet control alone' you must have imagined it.
Eventually I met a senior diabetic specialist who confirmed that the were ALL wrong and a Type 2's on diet control, and in fact anyone can go Hypo though it is very, very uncommon, but it never-the-less can and dose sometimes happen.
