Stated Victoza on Monday as tablets were no longer controlling bg. No real side effects yet apart from the odd headache which comes and goes. Already dropped on gliclazide tablet and if morning blood sugar stays around 4 will be dropping another one. On 0.6 at the moment and will increase to 1.2 in 2 weeks. Appetite diminished as I need to lose about 8 stone this is good news.

That's great news hope it carries on

Novomix 30, Victoza, metformin 2000mg sr (but not taking them as they play havoc with my insides,

Glad ur finding Victoza ok. It did wonders for my blood sugars but didn't do a thing for my appetite lol. Good luck in losing the weight.

Thank you for your encouragement I am hoping to lose lots of weight but my main concern is getting my blood sugar under control.

Hi there my nurse has been on about this to me or insulin was wondering can you tell me if you had any side effects also does it help you to lose weight I'm thinking of giving it a try rather than insulin

I had a terrible time to begin with I had an awfully bad stomach, and this fermentation where I had chronic wind, and a funny smell coming from me but it wasn't the Victoza it was the metformin since I stopped the metformin I don't have much trouble apart from when I eat a lot of carbs, Victoza is the better option than insulin, but I am now on both

Just because I had a reaction with it it doesn't mean you will have problems

The only reaction I had to Victoza was constipation (sorry tmi). It didn't reduce my appetite, but it did bring my bloods down quite nicely. I would choose that over insulin.

I have been on Victoza for a week and the only side effect so far is a reduced appetite☺ I go onto 1.2 next Monday so hope it stays the same. My blood sugars have come down from 10.00 in the morning to never above 6.00. I would give it a go you can always come back off it if it doesn't work for you. Good luck.
