Hello all – so happy that I found this forum. Thanks to everyone for all the sound advice and support.

Diagnosis Feb 27th 2017
HbA1c 57, FBG 8.2 Wt.107kg

Not that surprised by my diagnosis but determined to control it and hopefully who knows reverse it!!

Doctor prescribed Metformin 1 x 500g until settled then increase to 2.

Haven’t taken the meds yet but started on the LCHF (been 9 days today) after reading lots of posts.

I have been testing for the past 3 days and some interesting results. Using Accu-Check mobile.

Welcome to the forum! Your BG results are very good indeed particularly since you haven't started on the Metformin. You are well with NICE guidelines - 4 to 7 mmol/l before meals and less than 8.5 after meals. Your initial HbA1c wasn't too bad either, I've only managed to get mine (last month) down to 52 after almost 14 months.

Welcome and great results so far.
LCHF certainly works well and quickly, which is very good as I couldn't tolerate Metformin.

Hi @JASB68 and welcome to the forum. Well done for taking action to control your condition. Your initial HbA1c wasn't too high, and if you continue with monitoring and lchf you may well be able to reduce it to pre-diabetic or non-diabetic levels by your 3 month retest.
Ask any questions you want to, you will get a lot of good advice and support on here. And do keep us updated on how you are progressing.
