Hiya people.
I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right area or not. I'm not even sure if anyone's going to be able to help me with my problem. Basically, I have been on Provera tablets for Endometriosis for a number of years now and have not had a 'monthly' in all this time. I was diagnosed with Diabetes Type 2 on the 1st of July this year, so I'm definitely new to all this. I grew up with a guy at school who has diabetes and my mum was later diagnosed with Type 2, so I have an 'education' and understanding about the illness.
The problem I have is that I was put on Metformin 500mg on the 2nd July (due to be increased on Wednesday) and yesterday (Sunday) I started with light bleeding. Today, it has gotten alot heavier. I'm stumped and have just spent the last couple of hours trying to research this issue online and haven't really found anything useful.. or understandable as most of what I have found has been written in medical speak.
My GP didn't mention that this would happen and neither did the nurse at the diabetic clinic. Has anyone heard of this problem? I also wonder if it wouldn't be the Metformin as I've only really been on it a few days. I wouldn't have thought that it would have been enough to have an influence on my body like this.
I hope someone can help explain it, but I understand if not.
Charlie
