New Year's resolution

I am prediabetic and have got the low carb eating regime part of my life now. However I know I do not exercise enough. I do an hour of strenuous fun tennis once a week, walk to the supermarket and back a few times a week, take a walk when the weather is fine (not often at this time of year in northern Europe) and that is about it.

I was enjoying the Bryan Adams concert on TV last night and that got me thinking about all the great music CDs I have sitting on a shelf not being used. So this morning I slipped off my shoes and socks and danced in my living room for 25 minutes to the Groover from Vancouver. I loved it, the time went quickly and I built up a healthy sweat. I am going through my music collection alphabetically and my Alabina CD (Google her, great for dancing to) is all ready for tomorrow morning.

My New year's resolution is to exercise daily for a minimum of 25 minutes - a walk if the weather is fine, dancing if it is not and of course my weekly tennis. As I am retired this is all easily doable.

Does anyone else have any New Year's resolutions which others who are prediabetic could share to incorporate into our lives and keep type 2 diabetes at bay?

mine is to build my walking regime back up to 7 miles a day regardless of the weather brrrr

I just walk the hound and saw up wood for the fire .. But the wife dances around to her kinda music and has a treadmill for walking on .. She is happy ;) she cannot walk great outdoors as she has a problem anckle and can get stranded with it not working, so cannot get home.. So if she is at home she has no problem, if the anckle stopped working she just crawls to the sofa and can rest it in comfort. ( unlike the time it stopped working when she was walking in the woods, she had to sit in the foliage accross a small footpath hoping I could find her to help her get homes :) )
You go with your dancing and enjoy it :)

I have been walking 10-15,000 steps nearly every day. My New Year's resolution is to start running. I have ordered some running shoes online and will start once they arrive, maybe tomorrow.

Hi All Its another wet day but I know I must 'get out there' and walk briskly for a few miles, I find going to the gym a bit boring after a while especially in good weather. Yes I agree dancing is another good form of enjoyable exercise.
