Hi
@Jojuniorniomi and welcome to the forums.
Congratulations on the big reduction in hba1c and weight.
I have taken tablets for vitamin D for quite a while. Apparently as you get older (I know 43 isn't very old) some people don't absorb it as well. And also something like one fifth of people in the UK have low vitamin D, they only find out when a GP tests for it.
As for the tiredness? I assume your doctor has done a range of blood tests if they have picked up on the vitamin D?
Blood pressure> It's worth asking for a 24 hour meter before going on medication (or at least doing tests at home) because blood pressure at the GP is notorious for being affected by white coat syndrome (it goes up because you are nervous.)
The diet is more easy to answer. A very large number of the T2s on here (and some T1s) control their blood sugars (and often reduce or come off medication as a result) by reducing the carbs in their diet, as T2s are essentially carb intolerant.
Here is a link to jokalsbeek's blog, my favourite link to T2 and diet.

If you describe a typical day's diet now, I am sure some friendly forumites will be able to advise you on a lower carb alternative.
Once more, welcome.
