Newbie / 20 / Diabetic T1 12yrs

Yes, I just pray every day that my reckless ways haven't caused too much damage for the future!

As silly as it sounds, I just woke up one morning & thought "I don't want to die blind, with no feet & organ failure". It was like a light just went on in my head, I was sick of feeling rubbish all the time & realised it was all down to me to change that

Yeah must be a worry but at least you have changed it all around now so things will keep improving . It's great that you done everything off of your own back and kicked yourself up the bum.
I'm been pretty lucky can't say I've gone through that neglected stage as such , I always want to know whats happening with my diabetes bit of a control freak really when it comes to my diabetes lol

Hi there!
Just dropping a few people a note of encouragement for having diabetes! I know it can be hard at times but once systems are in place that work it takes the strain off alot! I am 26 and had diabetes since I was 4 and a half years old! Crazy how times flown by!
Hopefully hear from you soon and stuff! Oh and I used to live in Derby until I got married and now live in loughborough! Still visit derby to see my folks though haha
Take care
David
