Hi all, diagnosed just before last Christmas!..imagine a dry and "now, what do I do?" Christmas!. Well, sit down, take it all in and start thinking about the future. My mum's side of our family all suffered from uncontrolled Diabetes. Won't happen to me will it! I'm only 64, healthy, no problem. Slight chest discomfort, best see Doc. Result- high cholesterol, high blood pressure, high blood sugars....Diabetes!. So, here I am 3 months in and working it out. Research, research and more research...its my quality of life at stake. On the meds for each issue including Metformin, never been on so many pills before- takes discipline doesnt it'. All me and my mates talk about when we are out walking the lanes of Cornwall: our meds; must be geting old!. Lost a few pounds in these early days though. Long way to go in this marathon. By the way, Cornwall only has one hill..UPHILL. Bye for now.

I hear you @Alanjf10 I was diagnosed on 10th December AFTER I had done all the Christmas goody shopping:banghead:

I am starting to relax into it now, gone lower carb, definitely not Keto, walking everyday (but on my own as it's the only peace and quiet I get!), and dropping my blood sugar and blood pressure right down, and finally shifting my 'baby weight', my youngest/twins are already 15, every cloud and all that! 'Almost' looking forward to my next HbA1c test in a couple of weeks to see how I've got on.

Hoping also to drop a few Metformin too, I rattle:)

I appreciate that everything I have tried has worked out well for me and I have been really lucky so far, long may it last.

Keep at it. Take care.
