Newbie here

Welcome to the forum. As others have said, many on here have had a lot of success with low-carb, me included. You'll find a range of opinion and approaches, and a lot of sound, experience-based, advice. There's a few threads in the Food and Nutrition section (you need to scroll down on the Forums page) that could be useful for you. They'll certainly give you a feeling for the options available.
 
To be honest I’d given up on losing weight and just went low carb to reduce blood sugars, ignoring the rest and the weight fell off. Worth a go
