Hello everyone, I hope you dont mind me posting. I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 and been advised to go on a low carb diet.
I have always struggled with side affects of food, with lots giving me reflux and gut issues along with a nut allergy. I am finding everything a little over whelming as I am struggling to work out what I can and can't have. Topped with the fact I am not a very good cook and am at a loss with ideas, i am hoping some of you out there can help and point me in the right direction or give me some advice.
Im commited to make the change but just dont know where to being. TIA

Hi @bearzilla , welcome to the forum.

Of course we don't mind you posting, that's exactly what this forum is for!
What medication are you on?

Not being a good cook isn't an issue, can you cook/do you like bacon and eggs?
For the basics on how T2 and food works, I'd have a read of this short, clear and informative piece written by one of our members: https://josekalsbeek.blogspot.com/2019/11/the-nutritional-thingy.html

Do you have a glucose meter?
It's a great tool to find out how your body reacts to different foods, very useful to see if whatever information you read on the internet or are being given by your practice nurse/dietitian actually works for you.

As for ideas on food, there is this thread where we share what we eat, some of us are very good cooks, others have gotten good at making very easy but diabetes friendly meals: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/what-have-you-eaten-today-low-carb-forum.75781/page-3145

Good luck!

I was on the once a week needle for two years and was the worst thing I had lots of problems on it been off for 2 months and still have pain in my belly
