Hello :) I'm 22 and had type 1 for 21 years so there is nothing I have not experienced or been through (although you learn something new every day as its so unpredictable at times!) still on injections but going on the pump in a few months time

I have a degree in human biology and currently in medical sales - all spurred on by having type 1 and wanting to help develop the medical world!!

I'm new to all this, so if anyone just wants to chat/ have a particular question about anything especially in the teenager years and coping; I'm all for it :) I'm pretty chatty and don't bite :)

Hi, I'm 21 but have only had T1 for about 4 months. I'm about to go into my final year of a chemistry degree. Out of interest, is there any reason you decided to go onto a pump? It's something I've been reading up on a bit lately
 
Being on injections basically for my whole life, it just gives that better quality of life. Not having to excuse yourself in social situations to sneak off and sort yourself out after meals, and can be all controlled on a smart phone looking device, so if you're adjusting your insulin it just looks like you're on your phone! It's great - can easily change your insulin dosage if you have an unexpected ice cream etc. @thediabeticguy we all get bad and good days where it gets us down, I just think to myself I could be so much worse, it's a condition I can control and I don't have to die from it :) keep the positivity!
 
Yeah I totally agree. Think it'd be a long time before I could seriously look into it but the flexibility would be amazing. Especially on holiday. It must be weird getting used to having something permanently there but hey, injecting took some getting used to as well! Good luck :)
