:) Hello to everyone! I am a type 1 from New York, diagnosed in 1945, 5 days after my 6'th birthday. I am now 70, and have been diabetic for 64 years. I do not have any complications at the present time. Good luck? Good genes? No one seems to know. I have my own theories. If I get started on that I will be writing a long blog here. Some other time.

I have written a book about my life and included many pictures. There are chapters on longevity for type 1's, the Joslin medalist program, the Joslin Medalist Study in Boston, and other topics. I will not give a link since I am unknown here. I do not want to be accused of spamming. Some other time, perhaps? :D

Hi Richard,

So you are not 'spamming' in here if i request you post the link for myself to have a look would that satisfy you?

If you have had diabetes for so long with no complications i'm sure it would be very good read!

And i think i may have exhausted all i can find through the wonder that is google and from this forum :)

I almost forgot... welcome to the forum, i'm sure you'll be a help to many with your vast knowledge i hope i'm not to soon to assume you have!

Hello Ebony, I was beginning to think I was not welcome here. :( That was why I stopped visiting this site. Since you requested information on my book, here is the link to my amazon.com page.

Thanks for your reply! :)

Richard

Hi Richard,

Yes, you are very welcome here. Lots to read and learn here - oops having seen your profile I think you will be teaching some of us rather than learning  Lots of nice people here :)

Edited to make more sense :!:
